...the buzz of lawnmowers replaces the scrape of snow shovels.
...the bag of IceMelt is back on the storage shelf in the garage, trading places with the bags of potting soil and peat moss.
...the ice cream truck comes down the street, and all the kids (who are now a foot taller) run out for goodies.
...your neighbors start coming out and chatting across yards and over fences.
...you spend a lot more time on the porch or deck rather than inside.
...the birds dive-bomb your dog if she gets too close to the feeder.
How about you folks? Care to add to this little list?
I love Spring!

You know its Spring when you are thankful it is only 90 instead of 115 like it will be when it really gets hot. :(

You know it's spring when you find Dog shit in your yard when you don't own a dog cause some asshole decided to walk his dog and let him shit in your yard :(

Yow, El, haven't they thought of scoopers and Baggies? Geez. That is what we do here, maybe the dogs poo in yards, but damn, you clean it up!

To me, Spring is the time of year all the kids play their car stereos so loud my truck vibrates at the intersection, and they are FOUR cars behind me. In the Winter they keep the windows up and my truck vibrates only whjen they're TWO cars behind me.
That, and my eyes have been awfully itchy lately.
But there is a plus side, though. This is the time of year for neighborhood yard sales. I picked up a mint condition 17" LCD monitor for $20.

Love those yard sales!
Just doesn't seem to be too many people willing to part with the whole yard, though.

The same goes for garage sales too. I don't have a garage on my house, but just ASK any of these people if theirs is for sale and they look at you like you're nuts.

False advertising!! Let's deal with these people the American way...sue the crap outta them!

You know it's spring in Paris when you have a warm, sunny day with a beautiful blue sky, followed by 2 days straight of heavy rain. ;)

Oh, wow, that is true. Also, "sunny Italy" is a lie!! Every time I was in France and Italy, it rained. I was in Rome, Florence, Venice, and Palermo. Got soaked.
Paris, Aix-En-Provence (horribly scary drivers there, wooooo!), Strausberg, Le Havre.
But in spite of all the rain, imagine this:
Here is a simple American woman, in the US Army, seeing Europe for the first time, and seeing all these places others can only dream about, and actually being there! Sure, I fussed about the rain, but what I came away with was priceless.
These experiences will last with me all my life.
Thank you, US Army, for opening my eyes and teaching me.
Lucky you, Jafar. Don't curse the rain, cherish every moment.

...The top comes off the Jeep!
...The water warms up and the fish hit the flats. Hooray!
...The camping gear gets dusted off.
...The blue jeans get put away (shorts from now 'till November!).
...The boat spends more time afloat than sitting in the garage.
Now where are those water skis......

Well, I'm moving to Cairo on the 22nd May. How long do you give me before I start cursing sandstorms and relentless desert sunlight?
