What problems are you having? Can you be a bit more specific?

Thanks for joining, ptif219. Here are some important things you should know!
We would like to get to know you. Please stop by the Introductions Forum and introduce yourself. Just click the New topic button to get started!
Since you are a new member, there are a couple of temporary restrictions on your account:
The first one is that you can't start new topics in most of the forums yet. You can post in any of the thousands of open topics that are already underway. We know it kind of stinks that you can't start a new topic right away, but we have special requirements for starting new topics to make sure that the quality of debate remains high. Please participate in a few topics to become familiar with the site, and you will be able to start your own topics before you know it!
The other is that you can't view profiles yet. Our members have told us that they want this to add a small layer of protection for their personal information, and we are not going to argue with that.
When this message disappears, you are free to start topics and view profiles as you wish!
it doesn't recognize i am allowed to post.

Hmmm. I think the rules have changed, maybe? I don't think it's the browser. This looks to me like a message from DF. I joined another forum long ago that gave me the same message, and I had to post a certain amount before I could start a topic and view profiles.
It's not saying you can't post, but you can't start new topics in SOME of the forums, and you can't view profiles of members yet. I think that is a precaution to keep out trolls and other forum goons. I know you, Ptif, are none of these.
Mods, Admin, am I right about this? If I'm totally off base, Ptif, they'll set me straight, ok?
Personally, I'm glad you're here. Welcome from the loony forum feline.
Purrs,
Pookie

I think that is just a canned message shown to all new members. I don't think it has anything to do with your browser, especially since Avant is just another browser variant that uses the Inernet Explorer engine.

Perhaps it's a cookie problem. Do you delete all your cookies on a regular basis?
Or maybe a browser permission issue.

No, it's a notice from DF, Scribbler. Ptif, try posting a new TOPIC. See what happens. You can post to EXISTING topics but you CANNOT start a new topic yet.
You have to post a certain number of replies before you can start a topic, ok?

I just started two new threads. Does that count?

Ptif has 90 posts.
You have 703.
I think with the new vBulletin and rules and all, you have to have a certain amount of posts before you can start new topics.
But you'll need to speak to Admin about this, ok?
