Why is the rep visible for some members and not for others?

Cause some of us are in the red and they don't wanna embarrass anyone!

Nuh-uh. You are in the green but no reputation deal is under your post count.

LOL.... no, I meant we had negative reps....... as in I'm seen in a very unfavorable light by many people on this forum according to SOME people....... *G*

I'm not so sure I care for the rep system. It seems to encourage political divisiveness. Does it weed out bad posters? I don't really know, but I get a bit obsessed with looking at reputations rather that discussing issues.

I do appreciate the efforts y'all are making, though.

We need to do some more agreeing buck, so we can get some bigger reps. Oh wait.. I guess you already do. Well.. uh.. I agree with you .. uh.. about the rep system.

Sue,

It appears that maybe not everyone's rep carried over with the software change? Or could this be tied to whether or not a poster is using the standard or enhanced display version?

Because I know that some of the posters numbers are now blank where as they had positive rep points in the teens and twentys before the changeover.

That by the way is merely an observation, not a criticism. You all are doing a great job.

Thanx for the effort, sue. Mine doesn't work, but I appreciate you trying all the same.

Okay, I just tried changing the formatting option to basic and back to standard and it didn't have any effect on the rep display.

I used to have rep, I just want my rep back so people can see my negative rating from PatrickHenry, I wear it as a medal of honor.

Whether it was in the teens or wherever it was, I valued the negative reps much much more.

I had honorable negrep from those I despised too, 4Reagan.

I had my pos and negrep removed from those who had been banned.

I must say this system is not very functional or flexible.

We could change our opinions of other members before. Right Wndrtch? Now, no.

And the comments were useful in applying our opinions to the membership.

Altogether more expressive and one of the finer features of our previous software.

I see the Rep in the corner, but how do I vote with someone? I can't find the Rep comments in my profile, either.

Sue,

Don't mind them, if you gave them a hundred dollars, they would complain it wasn't in the right denominations.

I am not sure if this is what caused the change or if it was a coincidence, but while searching the CP interface for a button to turn it on I noticed I had HTML editing turned off.....I turned that on, and when I gave up searching for the "reputation" switch and went back to the board, reputation was visible......

that could be it. the rep visible thing is a modification, so its not the default. it might be something completely unrelated thats causing it.

if others can try what the Prophet suggested and see if that works, that'd be cool too :)

Click on that little scales thing, top right, next to the post number.

I can't find the Rep comments in my profile, either.

In your user CP.....you can see who gave you rep and who you gave it to.
