not my prediction this time, but that of Electoral Vote.com (which generally tends toward the liberal viewpoint) as of April 18 they showed McCain beating both Obama and Clinton handily…..
v. Obama, McCain over Obama 277-237
v. Clinton, McCain over Clinton 298-240

I honestly believe it's way too early to believe any of these polls. I'm currently undecided as to who I'm going to vote for, a big part of the decision for me will be who McCain picks as a VP. Many moderates are still undecided and waiting to see how everything plays out.

Obama is going to beat McCain like a red-headed stepchild (no offense to any red-headed stepchildren out there :) ) The turning point is going to come once the debates start - its going to be Nixon vs. JFK part 2. One side tired, stuttering and unable to do much more than spit out rote sound bites, the other side energetic, vibrant, intelligent, and able to handle any question with reason and dignity.

I'm sorry, but to be honest, I am getting sick of this Obama is going to beat McCain, McCain is going to beat Hilary, or whatever combination you come up with when the VP candidates have not even been shown.

Let's face it, if McCain chose Phelps as VP, Hillary or Obama would win.

And if Hillary or Obama chose Louis Black as VP (while it would be funny as hell for the presidential debates), McCain would win.

How about we wait until the VP candidates are shown before we actually start debating who will win shall we?

certainly it would be foolish to say that what the polls say now will continue unchanged until November.....but it is an interesting snapshot of what things are like at the moment.....

That's not a surprising outcome at this point in time. Since the Democrats have not selected a nominee much of their efforts are still being expended in the Clinton/Obama tug-of-war. Once that officially ends and a nominee is selected, the focus will change. Then the party's focus will be entirely on the Rep./Dem. match up. The running mates are going to be a big factor this election as well.
