Happy weekend!!
So...what's everyone up to this weekend? Traveling? Dinner out?

Here, it's spring cleaning time. The weather is going to be warm, so we're opening the windows in a couple hours and air out the house. We're scrubbing and cleaning every inch from bow to stern, including moving the piano to clean behind it. Yow! We only do that every other month, but it's a job and a half. The damn thing weighs like 900 pounds, at least, it's a solid wood spinet. Then I'll be steam-cleaning the carpet, getting the fuzz-monsters out from under the furniture and off the ceiling fans. I'll probably find enough cat hair to stuff a pillow with.

Hubby's getting the yard shipshape and tilling up the garden plot in back. We grow our own potatoes, carrots, radishes, tomatoes, and herbs. I'll be planting stuff next week, to give the soil time to "breathe" before planting.
I'll be redecorating, too, putting up different pictures and bringing out the different silk flower arrangements. I can't have real flowers or plants inside because the cats will eat them. All I need is five cats with the runs....yaaaggh!

Then, tomorrow, I am going to sit on my arse and admire my handiwork and not do poo! I'll dump a roast in the crockpot and let it work for me.

There's my weekend. What are y'all up to?

Pookie the Merry Maid

LOL me too, but it's the only time I get to do a good job. During the week, it's a lick and a promise, LOL!!

6am here, and I'm feeding my baby daughter. My weekend, like most at the moment consists of clearing out as much stuff as possible in preparation for the move to a new country. Something that I'm getting used to. This will be country #4 :D

Egypt for about a year, then to Dubai. I'm going to save a ton of money in Egypt. The cost of living is almost nothing. 20c a litre gasoline here I come :)

But I have a feeling that Dubai is gonna eat up all those savings.:sadly:

Not if I make the company pay me handsomely :)
I'm also buying up some Egyptian real estate in Hurghada which is a nice little place on the Red Sea that is a very good investment.

I am now a home health care worker. I get to go to grocery stores, pharmacies, and play Merry Maid to Mom.

She's worth every minute :-)

May God bless you Mia. Too many people are content to let their Mothers rot in a home. Never underestimate the importance of the woman who has suffered all her life to make you who you are.

It's going to be hard, Mia.........but you won't regret one second.

It's going to be hard, Mia.........but you won't regret one second.I would think she will regret a LOT of those seconds in the here and now. However, in the long run we rarely regret the good things we do and Mia can be proud of what she has done.

But, you must admit, that kind of thing is a royal pain in the ass, to be completely frank. At least when you're driving to the stores and the pharmacies, etc.
And I have a great deal of respect for her because of it.

Y'all don't even know the half of it. My mother - she's just the greatest. Closest thing to a saint that one can get.

She's the most undemanding patient in the world, except she thinks of something she wants from the store every day, lol.

I really don't mind in the least. She's had a miracle - she is breathing. (asthma).

Thank you Jafar, Lily, and Scrib. I'm going to post more detail in the 'I hate my brother' thread so I don't hijack this one.

(and ask for a name change for that one ;-)
