Carter: Gaza blockade an Israeli atrocity

Fri, 18 Apr 2008

Former US president says that sanctions imposed on Gaza Strip by Israel are a criminal atrocity, after meeting in private with Hamas leaders.

Former US President Jimmy Carter called the blockade of Gaza a crime and an atrocity on Thursday and said US attempts to undermine Hamas had been counterproductive.

Speaking at the American University in Cairo after talks with Hamas leaders , Carter said Palestinians in Gaza were being "starved to death" and received fewer calories a day than people in the poorest parts of Africa receive.
"It's an atrocity what is being perpetrated as punishment on the people in Gaza. It's a crime... I think it is an abomination that this continues to go on," Carter said.

Carter said Israel and the US were trying to make the quality of life in Gaza markedly worse than in the West Bank, where the rival Fatah group is in control.

"I think politically speaking this has worked even to strengthen the popularity of Hamas and to the detriment of the popularity of Fatah," he added.

"One of the reasons I wanted to come and meet with the Syrians and Hamas was to set an example that might be emulated by others... I know that there are some officials in the Israeli government that are quite willing to meet with Hamas and maybe that will happen in the near future," he added.

Carter on Sunday began a nine-day tour of the region to promote the Middle East peace process. He said Israel denied him permission to travel to Gaza, where Israel sealed its borders after Hamas took control of the territory.

How much food would the price of one Kasam rocket purchase?

Israel has again halted the flow of oil, food and medicines to the Strip!
And they are doing it while Jimmy Carter is still in Middle East.
The Israelis are NOT interested in peace. Israelis are agents provocateurs!

'Israel exposes its terrorist nature'

Fri, 18 Apr 2008

Iran says the unlawful killing of innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip clearly demonstrates Israel's 'inhumane' and 'terrorist nature'.

"International silence concerning Israeli crimes against civilians in the Gaza Strip greatly contrasts the West's so-called respect for human rights," said Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini on Thursday.

Hosseini denounced Israel's atrocities in the occupied territories, affirming that such 'stony silence will only embolden the Zionist regime to continue its cruel actions against Gaza's innocent civilians'.

Israel's military assault against Gaza this week is credited with at least twenty killed Palestinian civilians and a Reuters' photographer who was targeted despite his obviously marked vehicle.

The Zionist regime has again halted the flow of oil, food and medicines to the Strip.

The situation in the Strip is so grim that the Gaza Health Ministry has appealed to their colleagues around the world, saying Wafa hospital has canceled surgeries because it has run out of anesthetic nitrous oxide, the gas used in serious surgeries.

But, the weapons are still making through somehow. Gee! Has it occured to you that maybe they should be smuggling food vice weapons? Wouldn't that make more sense?

If Hamas started smuggling food, rather weapons, the fucking idiots would actually win the sympathy of The World.

Hamas doesn't give a rat's ass about anything but destroying Israel. If they have to starve a few thousand Palestinians in the process, then so be it.

Source?

apdst, I noticed that so far you didn't express your opinion about the actions of Israel. Why is that?
You just trying hard to change the subject. Do you hate Palestinian people? Is that the problem here?

And by the way, what's wrong with the weapons? The Palestinians are NATIVE people, they, and not Israelis, are true owners of that land, so they need weapons to fight for what's theirs.

America doesn't give Palestinians Billions to buy weapons. You know that.

Um, let's see, punkin. The terrorists smuggle in weapons instead of food and people are going hungry. Gee, let me think about what's wrong with the weapons for a sec.

Israeli Soldiers Admit To Their Reign Of Terror

Israeli soldiers detain a Palestinian student during a protest in Hebron in 2005. Hebron is the only Palestinian city whose centre is directly controlled by the Israeli military

Our reign of terror, by the Israeli army

In shocking testimonies that reveal abductions, beatings and torture, Israeli soldiers confess the horror they have visited on Hebron

The dark-haired 22-year-old in black T-shirt, blue jeans and red Crocs is understandably hesitant as he sits at a picnic table in the incongruous setting of a beauty spot somewhere in Israel. We know his name and if we used it he would face a criminal investigation and a probable prison sentence.

The birds are singing as he describes in detail some of what he did and saw others do as an enlisted soldier in Hebron. And they are certainly criminal: the incidents in which Palestinian vehicles are stopped for no good reason, the windows smashed and the occupants beaten up for talking back – for saying, for example, they are on the way to hospital; the theft of tobacco from a Palestinian shopkeeper who is then beaten "to a pulp" when he complains; the throwing of stun grenades through the windows of mosques as people prayed. And worse.

Why do you people hate the Jews? Would the world be better off if Hitler had exterminated the entire race?

What a strange statement.

This thread is about Palestinian people whose land was stolen in 1947 and who are now being starved to death by those who stole their land.

All Israeli crimes are documented.

This has nothing to do with the Jews or Hitler. Their own Holocaust should never be used as a convenient excuse to let the Israeli government get away with creating a new one.

How much food would the price of one Kasam rocket purchase?

Assuming that there was some food to purchase, not that much. If there were some fresh food, water, electricity, sewerage, Hospitals, employment, freedom of movement and the right to return to the homes they were forced out of by terrorists, there wouldn't be a need for any rockets.

Well, until those Egyptian terrorists "terr" down that wall, the palestinians will simply have to eat their own ordnance.

Good point.
But the problem here is that the Jews are just doing exactly what their God commands them to do. See the Deuteronomy in the Old Testament. So if they stop doing it then they no longer can be the Jews.
