Suppose you have reached your limit of 250 PMs and you are now stuck with going through them one by one to delete enough to have some space for your forum buddies to message you. How can you save your PMs to a file on your local computer so that you can just delete all the PMs in your In and Out boxes? It is easy, just follow the steps listed below.
Step 1 - Click the Private Messages link in on the on the upper right-hand side of the page below the Welcome message.
Step 2 - Scroll to the bottom of the Private Messages page until you see the private message download options. That section of the page should look like the image below.

Step 3 - Select whether you would like to download your Private Messages as an XML file, a CSV file, or a Text file. The easiest to search through would be the Text file for most users.
Select your chosen format (most would use Text) and you will be asked to either open the file, save it, or cancel the download. Select the save option to save the file on your local computer.
Once you have saved the file on your local computer you can delete your PMs from the Inbox and Outbox by following the steps below. The method listed below is just one of multiple deletion methods available to you.
Step 1 - To delete all of the PMs in a folder, choose the Edit Folders link from the Private Messages section of the menu bar on the left-hand side of the Private Messages page. That section of the page should look like the image below.

Step 2 - Click the Empty Folder link beside the folder you wish to empty as shown in the Standard Folders box. That section of the page should look similar to the image below.

Step 3 - Confirm your intent to delete all of the items in the folder you chose by clicking the Yes button. You will now be returned to your Private Messages page and the folder you selected will have been emptied.
