Moving Private Messages...

I created a file to put PMs in and it allowed me to move the PMs I received into the file but I cannot move the ones I sent into that file as well. I want to be able to keep both Sent and Received but I cannot figure out how to accomplish that. Please help.

When you download them the sent pm's should be in the second half of th file. You looked at the pm's in the bottom half, right?

I'm not sure what you mean, Zo. I go to the Sent messages, check the boxes of the ones I want to move but when I drop down to the Selected Messages dialog box there is no option for me to move them to the file I want just to Delete them or download them as something else which I don't understand. It used to be so simple.

Oh, I thought you wanted to simply download all the pm's to your computer.

If you're trying to store them on your computer you can only download them as all or nothing. Just delete the ones you don't want and then select "text" as the download format. This will download everything in microsoft notepad.

If you don't want a notepad document, you can download it with XML, which will open up in your web browser, but really isn't any different.

If that's not what you want to do then I'm not really sure what you want.

In the old PM system we could create a folder to keep messages about a subject or from a person separate from the others. From the looks of things, you cannot do that anymore. I was able to move messages others sent to me but I could move those I sent in reply to the same folder. I thought I was missing something but I see it is not possible to do that. Thanks, anyway.

(BTW, why would I want to move anything to a MS product when I am running a trouble-free Mac anyway?)

hi there :)

you should have the option to add folders to your PM system in your CP. look for the link called "edit folders".

I can navigate all that. What I want to do is move messages that I have sent to others from my Sent folder to one of the new folders and I cannot seem to do that because the dialog box on the bottom will not allow me. That is the bottleneck right now. Comprende?

Today all my previously read messages are showing as unread....can that be fixed?

ah, yeah, it looks like theres no option to move sent pm's. yuo'll have to download them, to keep them :(
