A quote from a new book out about McCain. Do we want a man, who gets so angry he punches people, to lead our country? I don't. Perhaps the most remarkable story of McCain's temper involved Arizona Congressman Rick Renzi. Two former reporters covering McCain, one who witnessed the following events and one who confirmed the facts provided by the first, relayed it to me as follows: In 2006, the Arizona Republican congressional delegation had a strategy meeting. McCain repeatedly addressed two new members, congressmen Trent Franks and Rick Renzi, as 'boy.' Finally, Renzi, a former college linebacker, rose from his chair and said to McCain, "You call me that one more time and I'll kick your old ass." McCain lunged at Renzi, punches were thrown, and the two had to be physically separated. After they went to their separate offices, McCain called Renzi and demanded an apology. Renzi refused. Apparently this posture made McCain admire him, as they became fast friends.

Just like Obama's drug use or Clinton's husband affair, this isn't what I care about when I go to the polls. Policies, government changes, international stuff and all that are what matter to me.

Though it sounds pretty awesome for an old guy to just sack him like that.

I think a bad temper, where you come to blows with people, is a terrible attribute for a President to have.

That's hott. Do you realize how heated some of those discussions can get? I'm sure you saw the fight on the State Senate floor within the last year on CNN between teo State Senators.

This kind of things isn't new.

Still, this isn't good. He has also slipped with calling North Vietnamese people gooks (perfectly understandable) and his "Bomb Iran" song.
He needs to control himself. I'm not sure I want a president who can't control himself when it really matters.
Just my opinion.

The main problem with McCain, besides his temper, is the confusion he has about what's going on in Iraq. I don't want a president who punches people, and I really don't want a clueless president like the one we have now.

One or the other of the two is bad enough, but might be survivable, but combine the two and you have a president who's going to go around punching the wrong guy. Of course, I guess we have that now anyway...
