I just made a thread. Clicked new posts. It's not showing up. Then I clicked todays posts and there it is. There's another new thread from suedanim. It shows up in todays posts, but not in new posts. So what I'm trying to say is, the new posts link isn't working properly, apparently.

Once you've seen the post it often disappears from new posts. It's based more on whether you've seen it, not by a certain time. I'm not sure if that's the problem.

Oh, I see......that's kinda weird. OK thanks.
There's also another cool link on the menu bar of other vbulletin boards. It's a drop down menu of links. It's called quick links and it has:
quick links
todays posts
mark forums read
open buddy list
user control panel
edit signature
edit profile
edit options
miscellaneous
private messages
subscribed threads
my profile
who's online
Can we have one of those too? Maybe instead of todays posts, since that's in the drop down.....

I think a lot of people, myself included, use todays posts and not new posts. I don't like new posts and always use todays posts.
As for the other things, aren't most of those available on the top of the screen anyway?
It's not new to you,,,,,so it won't show there! Makes sense to me :-)

Do you have a source for this, or are you opinionating on the basis of projecting your preferences on others? ;-)

hi guys :)
i need to speak about the tweaks im being asked to make. it seems everyone wants me to tweak something on the forum, and i need to not be tweaking something one person asks for, to replace it with something someone else asks for.
its getting to the stage im replacing one thing for another, and im sorry but i need to be able to draw a line under this. the more tweaks im making, the more people are asking for.
these tweaks are just cosmetic. in time people will get used to the forum, so, im sorry but i cant keep changing the forum. the more changes i make, the more im going to have to make every time i upgrade the forum software, and i need to be able to keep it on track.
sorry guys, i honestly dont want you to think im complaining, im not, its just i need to do what i thinks best for the forum overall.
susie
That is reasonable, susie, thanks for the heads up! We can keep complaining, right? You're just going to filter them and decide which ones you agree with? ;-)

Hmmm. I never used the today's posts and new posts thingie. I just scoot through the boards looking for new stuff and looking at replies and stuff. VBulletin makes scooting through the boards a heck of a lot faster. Today my log-in time was less than two seconds.I guess I don't use a lot of the tools and stuff we have here, and so I usually do stuff the hard way, which works for me. I'm old, anyway.

I usually use the "today's posts" choice, although it acts a bit different here from the old software. I tried "new posts," but saw the problem you had. I don't think it would tear any of your synapses out to learn to start hitting "today's posts," Pooke. Change is good.:dork:

Can we at least have that one?
It's down at the bottom Viola.
