Someone called GWB "Darth Jar Jar" in a letter to the editor in my hometown paper today. I'm kinda sorry that forum rules won't let me call him that.

Buck, forum rules require you to use "George Bush" or "George W. Bush" etc., but adding things before or after that is allowed. For example "Darth Jar Jar George Bush", while it doesn't really work well, it would be allowed. As long as the proper name is there.

Would "Darth Jar Jar B***" be permitable?
'Cause that would work in the Darth line.

No, it wouldn't.

No, it wouldn't.
Okay. Thank you for answering.
I shall edit my post so it doesn't violate the rules now.

:lmao: That's tough. The primary reason for the rule was how it showed up in search engines.

So, I could use the name Hillary "I-Can't-Quit-Lying-Because-It's-What-I-Do" Clinton, because the punctuation works out? Or Barack "Hussein" Obama, because it's his real name?

Barack Hussein Obama is good. Barack Obama the Muslim is good as well. Osama Barack Obama should be good as well, because the full proper name is in order. Is this correct Zo?

Technically, it should be George "Jar Jar" Bush, according to the Associated Press Stylebook. With nicknames, you stick them in the middle with quotation marks.

Yes, the proper name must be used.

By all means, figure out how to get some name-calling into your posts without violating the rules. It brings so much to the table.

So when I call Obama, Obama Bin Laden, then I shouldn't get nailed for it. I am using is proper name and the name on all his shirts and campaign signs.

Yea, but the campaign just goes by Obama, so technically just having Obama in there would be ok.

Why the necessity of namecalling?
It is juvenile, useless, without merit.
When will this forum emphasize the stated principle of "quality content?"
I suppose we could just negrep the posers who think namecalling is appropos.

PH, I agree. I just thought Darth Jar Jar was funny. I giggle to myself when I think of it. But I'm still irked at not being able to use "Dubya," because that's how I think of him. But I'm willing to give it up if the other side can't use "Hitlery." They seem to get away with a lot of intentionally nasty stuff about Obama, though, and it goes uncorrected.

The hell we do, everytime I say what I feel about Barack Hussein Obama a certain Moderator gets all butt hurt, and I am using his name.

I haven't seen it corrected yet. When it is, the rancor level will go down considerably.
