Hi all
Welcome to the new version of Democracy Forums.
You should be able to log in with no problems, using your normal user name and password. if anyone has any problems, feel free to email using the contact option at the bottom of the page. or use the following:
webmaster@fifewebsolutions.co.uk
also, if anyone has any problems using the new forum, please feel free to post comments/suggestions in this section of the forum.
if you come accross any errors, post those to, so we can try and make the change over as smooth a transition for you as possible.
enjoy the new forum.
kind regards
susie
The place looks a lot more user-friendly than before.
I like the new format; my only suggestion would be to change read items from Red to a different color. It's a faster way to scan when your time is limited.
It appears that signatures are not registering. Mine is still in the User CP but it does not display when I post.
ON EDIT: seems that signatures in all the old posts did not transfer over but they do appear in all the new posts.

Wow... all of my old PM's came back. I had almost 700, even though yesterday I had maybe 100. Everyone, check and delete them, or you will not be able to get any more.

Very impressive change-over. My pms are still here, so far the threads I've read do not seem disturbed. Brava!

hmmm.. now that you mention sigs.. can I ask which rule we are supposed to follow...
this one from the user cp under edit signature..
Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 500 by 100 pixels or 9.8 KB (whichever is smaller).
or this one from Announcement and rules - the democracyforum constitution
9. Signature images must be no larger than 150 pixels tall, and 550 pixels wide. Any larger and they will be removed.
Thanx

Well spotted :) I guess that is one to file under "bug fix". Either change the forum settings or the rule. For now, the forum setting (500x100) is all you can use.

Ut oh..lol.. well.. I can change mine if ya want?
Mine is per specs from the other rules..
either way is kewl.. just let me know ya all.
Im guessing anyone who uploads to this hosting.. would have to abide by that rule as knowing alittle of how the software works.. if thats what its set at in admin control.. then it probably wont allow the upload of anything bigger then specified..
but for others that use photo bucket or other hosting being public or private can kinda over ride that.. still the sizing should be the same for all.
either way Im cool.. takes alot more to bumm me out then that..lol
Still I would miss mr. mmmkay..haha.
wait.. i can just make him smaller..
I know its young here on this new software.. I don't mean to pic out stuff..lol.. just tryin to help get all in order!

Personally, I'm sad to see good old mybb go, but I'm sure we will be ok once the bugs are ironed out :)

How does one get rid of the "subscriptions?" I belong to a couple of other boards that use VBulletin, and they offer the option of not opening "subscriptions." For the life of me, I can't see what good they do anyway.

I need to get used to search.. I really miss the recent tab we had for posts.. thats all I ever used before.. it was always good for quite a few threads.. or all from that day..
now i click new posts and all it shows is like only a few threads.. and I tried to search for all posts from yesterday up to now.. it wont work... not for me anyways

ive changed the sig image size specs to match the general rule as mentioned.
also, i'll add the youtube funtion back in once i get time. ive some other mods to look into for the forum, so it'll take time. ive alot of work on right now so i'll get to it as quickly as time allows. (hopefully in the next day or two :))

Is this one of those free servers I've heard about?

I've just found an apparent different (and unwelcome) behavior in the new software. In MYBB, if you forgot to press the "post" button, you could always go back a few steps and make sure it actually got posted. But just now I posted a reply on the Justice Stevens thread, previewed it, and forgot to press the "post" button. When I realized what happened, I tried to go back and post my reply, but it had disappeared. I don't think I've seen this behavior on any forum before.
Of course, I might have found a way to screw it up my own self. That's a possibility I don't want to overlook.
PS: Never mind. I hit the "new posts" button instead of "today's posts."
I think its better ´cos i´m used to vbulletin

hi there :)
no, its not a free server, it is a private server though, if that helps.
