Affirmative action

I hate Affirmative action and welfare. I think affirmative action should be outlawed and welfare should be phased out. I don't need a hand out from the government and I don't need any special favors. However, just because a person got grades a little better than you or went to a more prestigious school than you doesn't mean that they will be better at a job than you. And if we are gona phase out welfare then there should be a lot more decent jobs out there. We need jobs that actually allow people to live above poverty when they work 8-10 hours per day. I know people who put in applications and they have to hope and pray that the get a call back. It's like playing the lottery. People aren't gona go work at Wall-Mart when it pays them the same as the (free) government( check they get) each month because then they loose their health care and they have to pay for child care. Call them lazy all you want that's not gona solve the problem. We need to get rid of all these stupid programs but we also need to address what cause them to come into play in the first place.

It would be nice if welfare was replaced with government work programs. There is plenty of work to be done on public land. The big issue there is that you don't want to increase the homeless population through this change.

Work programs and welfare are the same thing... with the exclusion of the labor.

Both programs require government THIEVE from the income of others, to provide for those who can't or won't provide for themselves. The only differece is one group WORKS for that theived income, while the others "claim" to be looking for work or meet certain requirements which allow them not to work, but to receive income.
