View Full Version : Multiple URLs in a post

I am unable to put more than 1 URL in a post.

I am using the URL tag "" and then close with "" minus quotation marks.

But it only allows 1 URL tag and the weird part is that it deletes everything after the first URL tag.

Is there another way to do that or is this a bug?

Are you using the "" and "" tags (minus the quotation marks)? Also I am using Firefox if that helps.

", which is what cronic used, works. [url] " (" [/url) does not. I'm not sure why.

According to susie we're moving to vbulletin in a couple days, just hang on for a bit and these issues should be fixed. I did try to fix it and I couldn't figure out the issue, but by the time I contact someone else and they fix it they may be in the process of converting us anyway.

Well on vbulletin we should be able to have a chat and a few other things we can't implement at this point.

Zo, I am no admin or in anyway knowledgeable about the system you are going to, but from what I have heard you guys may want to take the site off line a day or two to work out the bugs, because those admins I have talked to say there are usually bad bugs that result in days of getting deleted because of them.

Just a thought, but I'm sure you intelligible types on the types of boards know what to do. Because I sure in the hell do not hehehe.

I don't know anything about the interface of v bulletin.. just that most all vbulletin forum sites I have ran across I really don't like that much

I love this mybb stuff.. I think its easy, and simple..
as far as a chat room

the day it was suggested about the chat thing here.. .. I looked into it and within 30 mins.. created a chat.. you can have a free java chat right here if ya all want one...

I hope this vbulletin doesnt run people off..
Im going to give it a chance.. Im unfortunatly skeptical tho

Actually susie is a professional webmaster for vbulletin sites, and sanjay runs huge websites off of vbulletin. At the same time I am still learning mybb, and haven't used vbulletin. I have been learning on the job with mybb, and will do the same on vbulletin. I didn't have experience with actually changing mybb until recently, and even now I leave codes, plugins etc. to susie.

Here's an example of one of his vbulletin sites:

http://www.genmay.com/ (no, I site will not turn into anything that unruly member wise)

wow.. there is alot of peeps at that forum.. wow.. I can barely keep up here now.. I couldn't imagine trying to read all them peeps dirty laundry..haha..
its a nice lookin site

I know what ya mean about learning the mybb.. Im doing the same thing.. I have yet to come across anything to hard and I guess the fact that I have some html background does help alot

I have asked a few questions myself at mybbforum ... Im guessing you wont see alot of difference.. sure would be cool to have a peek inside the vbulletin..

Guess for now.. when it comes to my sites.. I'll be stickin with the free ones..lol...
smf or mybb!

So.. this move you said... its a couple days away?.. thats soon?

That's what I've been told. I just want to get it over with as the more I learn of mybb the harder it will be for me on vbulletin.

vbulletin

Why?

That will change the navigation and control panel and stuff up just enough to be a pain in the ass. It seems like a lot of work to change out the discussion board software for little to no gain. 2 steps backwards IMO.

phpbb requires "..." for quoting and urls.

you mean bbcode, viola?

phpBB is a superior bulletin board system, like mybb and much unlike the life sucking festering sore of a system known as vbulletin. Did I mention that I don't like vbulletin?

Any hootyhoo, my guess is, as to the url thing

It's being done because Sanjay prefers vbulletin and runs over 20 sites using it.

Zo, I just got one question, one thing I like about this site is the ability to import Youtube stuff in, is that going to change with this? That is gonna suck if it changes and can't do it. I always liked that feature.

Alonzo
03-19-2008, 02:44 AM
That shouldn't be touched, as it's one of the things susie has been informed to keep.

I'm working with susie to try to keep the loss of features to a minimum. Any that are lost will likely be temporary, as susie should be able to add them when I tell her that X feature was lost.

The current owners aren't to experienced with mybb, so some of the issues in upkeep likely won't occur once we transfer.

Elrathin

Again, thanks Zo. That is one of the features I would like to keep. I just wish there was a way to incorporate others like Break.com but that is ok. I just want to keep the youtube one for sure hehehe.

Well it's their board and they can do what they want. Myself, I try to avoid work if at all possible. Especially when you put in several hours of work and at the end of it all have gained nothing.

yep.. I agree... There will be some switchover work and some difference in options.. maybe some gained in some respects.. but i think maybe some lost also.... These people sound like they know what they are doing tho and must be pretty good at it

I love this setup here.. Im all used to it to.. now imma have to learn new stuff.. lol
