Clearly he deprived these two assholes of their right to free speech.

Of course not. His action of taking away that flag was his own practice of free speech as much as the action of some jackass who wanted to burn it.

Monday did the right thing.

Those people had no rights on a major league playing field.

Burning a Stars and Stripes is protected speech according to the courts.

But the fans did not pay their admission for anything but a baseball game.

Those guys were assholes alright.

I'm going to say yes, but only out of pity for the desperation you show in trolling for controversy like this.

Again, it depends. Were those two people burning the flag allowed on the field at the time? If they weren't allowed on the field, any act they were doing on the field is in support of trespassing.

If they were allowed on the field to do their act, then yes, Rick Monday should have been arrested.

I am going to say no...It's in the Constitution that you're only allowed to burn the flag on the field of a sporting event if you're wrapped up in it. In the case of a baseball game, it has to be during the seventh inning stretch. Then, it's cremation..which is protected. Otherwise, it's legal...even required, that you have it taken away, and you be arrested, for improper flag etiquette. So, Monday is OK for snatching it.

Thanks, Drocket. Did you have any other points to share? I really do look forward to your input.
