The Constitution of Democracy Forums

2. No referral links. This includes signatures.
3. No personal attacks of any kind will be tolerated.
4. If you have a problem please contact someone in the moderator group for help.
5. Posts must be relevent and have quality content to them. No "Yup" type posts.

8. One account per IP only. Do not make multiple accounts. Proxy accounts may be banned.
9. Signature images must be no larger than 150 pixels tall, and 550 pixels wide. Any larger and they will be removed.
10. All thread titles must be accurate to the post.
11. All proper names of political figures should be spelled correctly. Nicknames like Hitlary or Chimpy are unacceptable.

Amendments
A. (Jan 12,2007) We will NOT edit personal attacks since we are not about censoring members. We will edit certain words that we consider improper such as excessive curses or derogatory slurs.
B. (Jan 12,2007) Senior staff can be added to member ignore lists, however admins cannot. A caveat to members wishing to do this, if you get warning points from a moderator because you did not heed a posted message do not complain. Ignoring a moderator is not recommended but we will give members the option. Adding a moderator to your ignore does not prevent the moderator from PMing you nor from giving you warnings.
C. (April 6, 2007) In an effort to keep members on topic and debates civil we have instituted a new forum area called the Fools Paradise. This area will be mostly unmoderated, the exceptions will be for harassment and the posting of PM's. If the staff witness or a post is reported for violating a rule we may choose to SPLIT a few posts into the Fools Paradise. Topics placed in the Fools Paradise will usually not be locked but will allow members to continue their foolish behavior hence the name. This step has been taken in order to pursue our ideal of a civil debate site. We do not condone censorship nor editing members posts. This ammendment clarifies the actions staff will take in an effort to keep our policies followed.
D. (August 28, 2007) Reputations must not contain personal attacks or flames. This goes with rule #4. Any reputations found breaking this rule will be deleted. If the behavior continues warning points will be given. We also have the ability to disable a members ability to give reputation and will consider using it.
E. (August 28, 2007) Member names can be shortened or abbreviated. However purposeful misspellings or changing of a member name in order to belittle or ridicule the person will not be accepted. This is per rule #14.
F. (August 28, 2007) Staff may edit forum posts for accuracy in names for both members or political figures. This is according to rule #11 and #12. While some may consider altering a public figures name to be fun we consider it uncivil and inflammatory. This goes against our mission of civil debate. Also we have considered the implication of search engines and the value we are losing by not using the proper name.
G. (January 29, 2008) Private messages are not to be posted in any of the forums without permission. There is an expectation of privacy when engaging in discussions through PM's and we take this very seriously.
H. (March 17, 2008) It will be considered harassment when there is a consistent pattern of singling out a member or members for personal attacks or ridicule. Instances of harassment will be dealt with more harshly than personal attacks.
I. (March 19, 2008) Rule #11, the rule on proper names, does not apply to signatures. This has always been the case but appears to need clarification.
