What are peoples views on the fuel crisis?

This may not mean much to you Americans, but as some of you may know for us Brits, it's getting worse and worse. How long do you think it will be before the world does run out of fuel?

How much is a gallon there?

They got by litres, and there is only 40yrs of oil left on earth or so they say

Over here, its is near £1 per litre. You can work how many dollars that is, and then find that in gallons. Bear in mind out cars carry around 30 litres.

It's a lot.

I reckon it will less than 40 years. That's if nothing is done about it, if our governments start acting, we can find alternate fuels.

btw, has Bush signed the enviromental agreement yet?

I don't believe oil will run out in 40 years but it might happen. We are however technologicically within 10 years of producing many alternatives to oil energy and if faced with more crisis the world would act immediately. Solar, Wind, Nuclear, Hydrogen, and Ethanol are just a few examples of other energy we have yet to exploit to it's full potential.

True, although in UK, people are very reluctant to move from fossil fuels to alternate power/fuel sources.

It will take years to completely come off fossil fuels.

The Swiss seem to be doing something right 70% of their vehicles are hydrogen powered but england has no room to use solar, maybe turbines along the channel between GB and France

In the US we gots corn I reckon, which we use to make ethonal/gas which i stated earlier called e85, about 70 cents cheaper than regular gasoline

I think we have only like 20years left on fuel oil.
Its like it by the time i will be 60 the gas will be
all gone and we would walk every where or we would use
something else for fuel.I just hope they come with something
early as possible.
