When is Bull crap not bull crap?
never ..........
so why call it ANYTHING else?
If you can not be honest with yourself
you will never be honest with anyone else!
There is an element of good in the worst of people
BUT ....
it's NOT my job to find it in you! ... so show me the good in you ...
With me - you get the respect you deserve (some times :fight: )

Welcome Joe!
We love opposing views here, just make sure you read the rules on civility. Thrashing your opponents with facts and reason is the method preferred around here.

you can't imagine how MANY boards I have been banned from :nana:
even a tropical Fish Board ... because a moderator said NO ONE can keep an Oscar with a Cory .... :madlaugh:
... they didn't like my 2 seven inch Oscars with 2 one inch cory's ... :ecstatic:
getting banned is fun ... because by rights - when I get BANNED - they are almost ALWAYS WRONG! Except once ...

LOL! But I am a liberal, and I have never been banned from a site. I don't know why you would come in here and do this unless you're a moderator or administrator.
Banning me would never tick me off because I have not and never will do anything to be banned for.
Still, welcome to DF.
You will find that I am a little different.
Give us libs a chance.

there are Liberal Moderators and Admins in this world ...
I like libs for the most part ...
Some of my other forum interests - the libs are better posters ...
like fish keeping or digital photography ... not too many in classic cars though!
Libs are real good if they are recovering from something like cancer ...
to help with emotional support for newly diagnosed cancer patients ...
(I need a few like that - if any want to help moderate a disease topic
just in case any have something like diabetes, cancer, Lupis, high blood pressure ... or ? ? )

Wow, nice caddy. Great year for the boulevard ride, and the powerplant.
I am mainly a musclecar guy, but my tastes are all over. I respect solid, sound mechanical designs that do what they were built for, well.
Been a while since I had a toy to play with, my last one was not a musclecar (by classification) but it was a very fun car to drive.
Body:
It is a 1979 Impala Aerocoupe, 2-door. Modified bumper mounts for weight, lightened bumpers.
Engine:
400 C.I. small block Chevy (seasoned) bored .030 over, plateau honed with deck plates.
Stock Crank and rods, stress relieved, polished, balanced and reconditioned.
Hypereutectic TRW pistons, moly coated skirts.
Racer Brown split duration 304/287 duration .468 Intake .480 Exhaust Lift at 110 degree centerline.
Matching Racer Brown, Off-Road Anti-Pump-Up Hydraulic Lifters
Forged Pushrods, with guide-plates, and rev-kit. using Harland Sharp Gold Rockers 1.6 ratio.
1970 Good Casting 350 heads, with steam holes drilled, bowl, runner port and gasket matched.
Ported Edelbrock Torker II Intake, 1/2 inch phenolic, 1/2 inch aluminum spacer for carb.
TRW Ultimate Duty timing chain, gears with offsets for cam degreeing. (Done)
Melling Hi-Volume oil pump, extended pickup, stock, deepened pan with added baffles.
Lifter valley and all internal engine spaces deburred and smoothed, with debris screens.
All ARP bolts and Studs used throughout, with high volume, extra capacity water pump.
Triple Core, 1975 "Desert Cooler" Pontiac Radiator, with twin electric fans, and trans cooler.
Transmission:
350 Turbo-Hydramatic 3-Speed, with manual valve-body, shift kit, HD parts, 2800-3200 stall converter.
Rear Differential:
4.56 Richmond Gear Set, mounted in re-inforced stock 8.5 inch, 10 bolt rear-end with posi-unit.
Suspension:
Heavy Duty Diesel Springs, cut short front and rear, for firmer, lower ride height.
Poly-Urethane Bushings front to rear, with exception to milled aluminum puck body mounts.
Adjustable ratio front shocks from 90-10 to 50-50, rear adjustable same.
One air-bag, passenger rear.
South Side Machine Lift Bars, Boxed frame, boxed trailing arms with adjustable length. Track bar.
Wheels and Tires:
American Racing Torq-Thrust 15x8 front, 15x9 rear.
Cooper Cobra Radials 255-60-15 front, 295-50-15 rear. (Street Slicks on spare rims, with screws)
Fuel Delivery:
Holley 110 Electric rear, mounted in stock tank with lowered pick up and bung extensions.
All new large diameter hard line, Fatboy braided soft lines, with in-line, frame-rail filters and fuel pressure gauges at the carb inlet. Also have oxygen sensors and fuel-air gauge for tuning.
1969, 454 Quadrajet Carb, highly modified for manual choke, racing applications. (dual ram-air from dual inboard headlight openings, with smoothed and milled air-horn and high profile K&N filters.
Ignition:
Still undecided on the box, but it will be in addition to the HEI, have 3 stage rev limiter. Leaning towards the MSD 7AL2, but still in the process of weighing out good and bad of each box.
Brakes:
All stock, but new hardware, with exception to adjustable front and rear, proportioning valve, drilled rotors front, and fresh air induction from underside of car directly on to brakes for cooling. Still using 11 inch police style drum brakes out back. ( can't go disc due to my next cam choice is a little too lopey even with a vaccuum reservoir to maintain power brakes, which I want for NOW)
All of that, in a bare(and I mean bare) stripped, redone from the ground up, body and frame.
I think the nicest car I have personally owned was an Arctic Blue 1975 Pontiac Grand Prix, 400ci, 400 Turbohydramatic Trans. Actually bought it with 35,000 original miles on it, drove it to California from Ohio three days later going to "A" School in the Navy, San Diego. Beautiful car.... I will have to scan in some pics one of these days, I am short on time tonight.
Thanks for sharing the pic.... nice ride.

my coolest car was a '68 GTO convertible with a small block 400 ...
hind sight is 20/20 ...
when I had it - it cost me $400.00 to buy it ...
Now it could almost pay off my house!

Hey Joe, I am rebuilding a 1973 Corvette Stingray and man is it a dream to drive. It is good to find out there are other car people here and I look forward to some good discussions. My first was a 1967 High Plains Mustang and I certainly know what you mean about hind site. I sold that car and have been kicking myself for doing so ever since.
This is a pic of my wife and I getting ready to go for a drive in a recent cruise night.

Boogy, that Stingray is cherry! Joe, your Caddy's positively pimpin'. Os, get those pics scanned.
Since we're sharin' car pics.....
This was the ex and mine's '69 GTO; bought back in '86 or '87 for around $4,000 (right before musclecar prices shot straight north); 400ci with a Muncie M21 4spd:

Pic kinda sucks 'cuz it was scanned in from a scratched-up insta-Polaroid (and I'm only so good with PaintShop Pro). This honey'd blow your hair back and twist you sideways if you planted your foot too deep off the line. License plate read "I LIKE 69".
This is the biggest muscle we have at the moment:
