View Full Version : The black communities message w'Obama?

Now, obviously being a white person making commentary on my view/interpretation of how the black community is acting in politics or racism in general is going to generate blinders and a lot of hate but it needs to be said.

A full 4/5ths of blacks in many states are voting for Obama (who is btw half white so completely hypocritical to call him just black). Now I've lived my life not really giving a damn what color someone is, in fact have had many non-caucasian girlfriends. But what I don't understand is the apparent hypocracy our country is going through.

It's ok to vote for a "black" man for president for no other reason than race, then you are essentially telling every white or hispanic person that is ok to vote for a white/hispanic person simply because they are not black aren't you? Obama didn't win 80% of the black vote in some states because they thought he was the better candidate or that his policy comments are somehow superior to hillaries (ps, I've never been political in my life, I've never even voted oddly enough, in some views I'm conservative in others liberal, though this election seems to bring a lot of people out).

At any rate, clearly you don't win by that kind of margin with 3 years of experience because people like your views. It can be very fairly said that blacks are coming out in record numbers and voting in landslide votes for this man for no other reason than he is 'black' or 'half-black'. How is that not racist? If I were to post saying I'm voting for hillary because she is white, I'm a racist...if I say it's because she's a woman I'm sexist. (or not voting for her per say, etc etc).

This kind of becons to a greater trend which may or not be fair, but it's all from viewpoints and my viewpoint has taught me in this great country of ours that blacks have ironically become more racists than whites (that I know). Clearly growing up on the west coast orgegon/cali/washington is not like being in the south, but blacks completely isolate whites in most social groups I have been around growing up. I've heard many blacks speak of these issues, but if I white brings it up the response is always "I'm black, I can't be racist!" as if your color has anything to do with your mental views on the world around you?

Ironically I think I am not the only person noticing this and it will be interesting to see how this plays out if Obama wins the nomination, because more and more whites seem to be flockig to hillary, and if they are anything like me it's almost as if I'm offended that the blacks are voting based upon race and not their opinions of the candidates.

Obviously this probably isn't fair, most voters in any country anywhere are sipmly voting based upon who's popular, maybe 10% know the actual issues, even I am ignorant on many....it's just an observation.

So....feel free to flame away I guess.

What a shocker, an obama supporter with absolutely nothing to say about the actual issue other than to critisize a typo or something equally asanine.

I rest my case.

Some people will vote based on race, while others won't. I don't think you can actually say how many voted for Obama because he's Black or not. A LOT of people are supporting him because they believe what he says and a lot more are voting because they hate Clinton.

It is quickly becoming clear that the Dem's practice of identity politics are coming home to roost within their own party. I see the divide getting wider and wounds deeper the longer this nomination process goes on.
This is the party who preaches unity?
They can't even get their own voters to unify, how are we to expect they can do it with the entire nation?
Actually, most who pay attention know that the Dems are the ones responsible for dividing us, not the other way around as they want us to believe.
Division works very well for them nationally...always has. that is why they promote it. However, this great skill has now infected their own ranks.
I can't wait to see the slap fights between the lib-elite chardonnay splashing Obama supporters and the blue haired Knitting-needle wielding Hillary supporters in Denver.

Give it time, the Dems are still picking their candidate for president. I seem to recall you Republicans weren't to united especially when trying to decide which candidate was more conservative.

I know seriously. That is something that worries me about this member. I was just asking what the deal with denoting multiple quantities instead of possession. The post was a good post all other things considered.

Did anybody really think that my sig or avatar is in support of Obama? Maybe I need to freshen things up?

Yeah, El, but we were concentrating on ideology.
The dems are concentrating on race and gender.
Big diff

But each of the campaigns are.
That's my point.

Michelle Obama mentions how proud she is to have a "black" in contention in the WH.
Clinton and her supporters routinly refer to her campaign as a positive step for women..

I'm not arguing against that, I'm just letting you know the facts.

Yeah, you're right......if they wouldn't mention this history making fact, I don't think anyone would notice.

Hey, lily...did you hear what G. Ferraro said today?

Hoooo Boy!
If I were a Dem, I would be very worried about this stuff.
Can't end well.
If the party leaders don't put a lid on this soon there will be some unfortunate ramifications for the Dem party in the near future.

Fondly,
