Hey folks. Some of you know me, some of ya don't, so I'll give y'all that don't a little introduction. I've been a member here for a few years now, but I had to take a little hiatus to try and get my life into some kind of order. Things didn't exactly work out as I had planned, (some of you may recall that I had planned to sell our house and do an "extreme" downsize into a travel trailer) so I'm back now. I still hope that my wife will come around, but for now, it's business as usual. For those of you who are saying to yourself "Holy crap, you wanted to move into a travel trailer?!!!", It was about shedding the bonds of "owning" a home, and owing your soul to the devil. It was about breaking free of the Monday through Friday drudgery, and having the time (and money) to truly enjoy life and really spend time with the family (I'm not exactly a millionaire, so I have to be creative). Anyway, I just couldn't talk my darlin' bride into doing this, so she's working 2 jobs, and I essentially work 2 jobs (1 full time job, and I have a boat building/ repair business on the side, which is in the tank due to our "non- recession", so I am rehabbing old boats on speculation, and doing so-so, but not great). So anyway, I'm still stuck in this house that we can't "really" afford (we make the payments and utilities, but there's nothing left for upkeep, which I don't have the time to do anyway!!), and I'm afraid that now we're pretty much stuck with it anyway, as houses aren't really selling around here. So like the good captain, I guess I'll just go down with the ship as it were. So what the hell, I'm back, and looking forward to jumping into it with y'all. Oh, and to explain my "conservatarian" label, I'm basically a fiscal libertarian (Fair Tax for me!!!), and a social conservative, though I do pretty much go by "to each his own, as long as you don't bother me about it". I have Christian values, but I'm not a practicing Christian. I commune with God when I'm 30 miles offshore fishing in a 20 foot boat, can't get much closer to God than that! I don't really try to ram my beliefs down anyone's throat, but you can bet I'll debate you over them. And isn't that what we're here for? Anyway, see ya'll around.

Ditto what Boogyman said.

I'm sure things will work out well for you.
I have a feeling you'll come out of this stronger, happier and a lot wealthier if you just keep at it.
As you know, the *Great preservanation* is very rarely wrong.

Hey Mayberry - welcome back and sorry you've fallen on hard times.

Not sure if you've considered something like this, but it might be worth looking into, if all else fails:

Could You Walk Away From Your Mortgage? (http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Economy/story?id=4369417&page=1)

Best of all good luck to you and yours.

Goober says "Hey", Mayberry. I'm guessing you're a Cackalackian, and as such, we may be fishing the same water from time to time. I'm in Virginia Beach and have spent many a day off the NC coast chasing the birds.

Man, I could eat a Red Snapper tonite!

But...I am stuck with Yellowfin and Mahi...
