Looking for information...

The fish and game dept in Montana is hiring undercover informants to set up hunters and outfitters (this posted on thier website)....the only problem is the informants are allegedly doing the killing of said animals...I cannot get any information on policy... isnt it sort of defeating the cause if the undercover shoots an animal and then the hunter gets charged with wasting game?...I have asked (head office fish and game Montana) where undercover are hired from and no answer...im thinkin BATF.... any help here getting some info? I am gathering info for a story

They do have undercover informants operate with illegal poachers. It happens a lot with fishing, the person will join the poacher or poaching group and, sometimes, participate just enough to gain trust while gathering enough info to place serious charges on them.

In the end they save more that way. But they don't do the primary killing, it's only done when necessary to maintain trust and eventually gain a conviction. But usually they do their best to avoid that.

I can't speak for montana itself, but having killing part of the normal routine would be highly unusual.

What if the agents get poached? (JK) Seriously, though, I suggest not being a snitch for these guys, and peacefully not complying with their 'orders'.

So let people do what they want with any animal on any land?

Or is that just a side effect of refusing to cooperate with the government?

Either way, a horrible solution.
