Read an interesting editorial the other day which caused me to stop and say... Was Reagan to blame for 9/11?

Consider this: Arming pilots is not a new idea. In fact, airline pilots flew armed in large numbers from the dawn of commercial aviation to 1987 with no record of incident. When the federal government disarmed pilots in 1987, many pilots predicted cockpit takeover attempts — including the late Captain Victor Saracini, who, in horrible irony, was the captain of United flight 175 on September 11, 2001 when his Boeing 767 was hijacked and crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. 1987? Reagan was President then and Bush 1 VP... Hmmmm... I wonder why the republicans never seem to recall this tidbit of information when they try to blame Bill Clinton for 9/11... is this more of their selective memory showing?

Given that Ronald Wilson Reagan was the catalyst to the greatest years that America had seen in quite a long time.

There is no doubt in my mind that his success and our success motivated islamists who hate our freedom and prosperity to attack our wonderful nation.

Regan's success could be to blame. I mean if we had Carter Radical Islam would have been considerably less jealous.

Reagan's success could have been the motivation. But it was Clinton's incompetence that inevitably allowed out attackers to succeed.

I am left to wonder if you can find legislation from that year that shows that Reagan directed the disarmament of the pilots Stripey? You have made an interesting assertion that you haven't backed up with anything. I do, however, find it very interesting that your own source article doesn't make the same assertion you are making here.

RADICAL Muslims, extremists in every sense of the word caused 9/11. Not one president was to blame, it could have been Clinton and Bush2 for whatever reasons, but they did not CAUSE 9/11. Radical nutcases claiming to be Islamists did it, and arming the cockpits might not have made much difference.
Hopefully, we won't find out because hopefully we won't have another 9/11. So, unless it happens again, most of this argument is just academic, because there is no proof of it working or not.

Actually, if you read the 9/11 Commission Report, there were several instances of governmental complicity, not the least of which involve Germany, Saudi Arabia, and Iran. I can't call the majority of the hijackers "extremists" because only the pilots knew that the planes were going to be used as missiles. I'll just call them devout Muslims. That's how they got where they went.
