It is pretty obvious that Obama has the nomination at this point (Clinton would need 56% of all remaining delegates just to catch up) so who do you think he will choose as Vice President?

I say itll be either Jim Webb or Bill Richardson.

Had Edwards endorsed Obama after he dropped out, I'd be betting on him. Without that endorsement, though, I think its rather unlikely. I think its entirely up in the air who he'll pick at this point.

that would be sweet....I was wondering how the Dems would screw up their chances to win.....nice of them to get it over with right out of the gate.....

I had thought Richardson would have made a good choice. I can't remember who, but someone here mentioned that his talents would be wasted in that spot and Secratary of State would be a better place to use him.

I don't really see him picking any of his old running mates. I think he would need someone older with a little more experience in him, just as I think McCain needs someone younger with fresh ideas as a running mate.

I say Richardson because Obama has the toughest time with blue collar workers and hispanics. Richardson at least covers the hispanic part.

I say Jim Webb because if they attack Obama on national security Jim Webb covers that. Not to mention he is from a swing state.

Richardson also covers the national security issue and they can make the argument that if something were to happen to Obama Richardson is ready to lead.

While putting Richardson in the VP slot is somewhat a waste of his talents it would put him as the presumptive frontrunner either in 4 or 8 years which is why he would agree to it.

Don't get me wrong, Richardson would be my choice, but as his one commercial ran.......he's overqualified.....damn, I loved that ad.

Also, I don't know where you live, but here Hispanics and Blacks are very prejudiced against each other.......I don't think it would work as you think it will.

Richardson has a hell of a education and background in diplomacy...I'd like to see it put to good use.

Webb, I never thought of him, but it would be a good choice.

Oh don't get me wrong I definately see your point. However, considering Richardson has still not made a decision on whether or not to run for the open senate seat in New Mexico it tells me he is keeping his options open.

As for the divisions between African Americans and Hispanics I dont see how a unity ticket would fail to heal that divide. Hispanics would vote for a hispanic, whether or not a black is on the same ticket. Thats just my two cents and I could be wrong, but you may be wrong as well.

That's good to hear. I didn't know that.

That's how I love to end a debate!
