I've been debating posting this for awhile. It's from a band called Flyleaf. The song is called Cassie. It's about the girl, Cassie Bernall, who was killed at the Columbine High School Shooting. She was the one who was asked if she believed in God, and when answered yes, was shot.

Lyrics:

The question asked in order
To save her life or take it
The answer no to avoid death
The answer yes would make it
Make it

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie pulled the trigger

All heads are bowed in silence
To remember her last sentence
She answered him knowing what would happen
Her last words still hanging in the air
In the air

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Rachel pulled the trigger

How many will die
I will die
I, I will say yes

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie pulled the trigger

(Do you believe)
Do you believe in God (Do you believe)
Do you believe in God (Do you believe)
Do you believe in God
And I will pull the trigger

Hard to understand the context of poetry.

It seems to be saying that Cassie killed herself by not lying about her belief in God.

That would be a wrong conclusion.

Cassie did NOT kill herself. She was murdered.

Yes and no. I think it acknowledges that she knew the consequences of telling the truth and did it anyway. It was deadly, she knew it, and did it anyway.

I don't know that I would have the courage to do that, and in the face of a gun, not become a yes man.

of course the fact the girl was killed is sad and tragic...The song itself rocks..never heard it before but limewire here I come.

I know the feeling. A lot of their other songs are very good too.
