Once again. I do not think he is a bad guy, but he should not be president. If for one minute we all think this guy is really the one in charge, I suggest watching the PBS special about cheney and rumsfield.
The one thing that bush has made a very serious impact on this country was by choosing to nominate John Roberts as chief justice. I believe as decades pass he will keep this country on an even keel.
I believe that as this next 18 months rides out, and santorum is booted we will see more and more conservatives jumping ship and speaking like scarborough.
So is he stupid? Yes, and shallow. It is sad that his religion was used as a political chip.

Well his tenure is almost over. As a power Bush has lost a lot of his steam even in his own party. Kind of sad but true.

I don't think Bush is STUPID, exactly - he's just a perfect example of what happens when you spend 20 years of your life drinking and snorting coke. He may have actually been a relatively bright person at one point in his life, but he's burnt out massive swaths of brain cells through substance abuse.
I'm not saying that just as an insult, either: I honestly think that's his problem. Its interesting to compare Bush's speaking ability to, say, Ozzy Osborne or Gary Busey. There's more than a little similarity in their stammering, stuttering and stumbling around. That's the effect of prolonged heavy drug use.
So remember kids, drugs are bad, mmkay?
An Idiot, no........but I do have to agree with O'Donnel.....he's in over his head.
Drokett.......you made a good point about his speech patterns and drugs.

All we can do is wait to see what history says about him. People said the exact thing about Reagan but they turned out to be wrong.
I heard someone who knows Bush personally say that his intelligence lies in dealing with people. He does have an MBA from Yale correct? I find it hard to believe that anyone with a MBA is an idiot, he might not be the best president.. but hey.. jimmy carter wasnt the best president either and hes certainly not an idiot.

So Lily now has proof that the president definately lied to us about the weapons we didn't find in Iraq.Â*Â*Lily, I am waiting ever so patiently for you to post that proof.Â*Â*Will you also post the information about how most other governments thought the weapons were there also?
I also would like to hear just one liberal point out that Clinton LIED UNDER OATH!Â*Â*It wasn't about his promiscuous activities, it was that he LIED UNDER OATH!!!!!

"I want to say one thing to the American people. I'm going to say this again. I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie. Not a single time. Never. These allegations are false and I need to go back to work for the American people."
Now that, that is an example of a Presidential lie.

Actually Lily brings up a very interesting point.Â*Â*If Bill Clinton as the President had to lie and couldn't conspire to keep it a secret just over a blowjob....then how is Bush able to lie about all the things supposedly he is conspiring about?Â*Â*One has to wonder.
Honestly..think about that.Â*Â*And consider that most found Clinton to be very intelligent..yet Bush is a idiot? How can this supposed idiot fool everyone?

Clinton's lie worked fine, except the bimbette had a blue dress. Has anyone ever seen Saddam Hussein in a blue dress?

So many of the posts on this topic display the corrosive influence of the Democratic Party's scorched earth playbook. The vitriolic demonization of their opponents has permeated all things political.
No, President Bush is not an idiot. It amazes me how crude and disrespectful political discourse has become. I would never have believed that refering to any president as an idiot, liar, cokehead, rapist, etc. would become so acceptable. I don't let the Republicans off the hook on this, either.

Also, technically, if Clinton did not believe that oral sex was meant by the term "sexual relations":
Do you think two people have had sexual relations ONLY IF they have had sexual intercourse, or do you think two people can have what YOU would define as sexual relations without having sexual intercourse?
Â*Â*Only intercourse 20%
Â*Â*Other acts as well 73%
http://www.cnn.com/ALLPOLITICS/stories/1998/09/22/clinton.poll/
There was also a poll done on youth that showed the number counting "only intercourse" as sexual relations was around 50%, but I can't find the poll.
I think he lied, but you need to prove that oral sex was consistent with what he understood sexual relations to be.
I would never have believed that refering to any president as an idiot, liar, cokehead, rapist, etc. would become so acceptable.
What about Chimpy?

Are you saying that Clinton has the maturity level of youth..like a teenager? Cuz if so I agree with that.
As for the 20% that thought Sexual Relations was only intercourse...most likely Clinton crazed left-wing fanatics. The poll is slanted since EVERYONE at the time was well aware of the Clinton statements. It's slanted. The poll should have simply asked.
"Do you agree with Clinton that a blowjob isn't sexual relations?"

Yah Zo, Chimpy, too.
I used to be annoyed at the obviously phony discourse displayed by politicians, especially senators (my good friend and colleague, etc.), but I've come to realize that civility is crucial to working with those with whom you disagree. A brief look at the history of the Senate shows caning, fist fights and (I believe) even a shooting. This is why the scorched earth, burn all bridges strategy of the Democrats does not bode well for our future.

Also, technically, if Clinton did not believe that oral sex was meant by the term "sexual relations":
The Rapist was presented with a definition of sex at the beginning of the deposition that included contact by direct skin contact or any object with any genital region and the other person, and contact with breasts.
Clinton was also a lawyer.
After being presented with this definition, he was asked if he had sex with Lewinski and he perjured himself.
Also, he wasn't 12, and everyone else besides him recognizes that putting cigars in a warm, wet, hairy humidor is a sexual act.

You're only difficulty comes when you're discussing a rapist or a cokehead. The rape has been proven in the case of Clinton, and Jennifer Flowers assertion that he was a regular vacuum cleaner with regard to cocaine certainly shouldn't be dismissed out of hand, knowing as we do his other predilictions.
Since he's a rapist, he can carry the name.
Bush ain't an idiot, he's a liberal, which is close enough to the same thing, but the cause isn't organic.

Sorry Nate, but nothing was proven. I suspect it was true, but there's that "innocent until proven guilty" thing.

Sorry Nate, but nothing was proven. I suspect it was true, but there's that "innocent until proven guilty" thing.
That "innocent until proven guilty" thing? That pertains to criminal trials and courts of law, which necessarily carry a higher burden of proof than plain common sense does.
Unless you're one of those weak minded people that think a "not guilty" verdict is identical to being innocent, and that OJ really is searching the world's golf courses in a desperate search for the real killer of his ex-wife, then you're capable of understanding that most people can view the evidence and come to the right conclusion outside of the courts.
I've reviewed what evidence is available on the rape allegations against our Perverted Formerly Impeached President, and there's too much substantiated proof to ignore. Now, maybe some of those girls were just gold diggers seeking a moment of fame...but not a young woman in college when her rapist is a classmate with no family and no evidence path to fame. Nor when the claim is made by staffers who would be better served by keeping their mouths shut, if the tale was false, such as Kathleen Willy. And Juanita Broaderick? If that interview was acting, then Hollyweird needs to do a talent raid in the ranks of the administrative staff of the nursing homes of America .
So, let's put that silly "IUPG" nonsense back in the courts. "Reasonable doubt" becomes unreasonable leniency when discussing the behavior of our most important criminal class, the politicians.
Lie about getting us into a second war.
Prove it.. ohh yeah.. thats right.. you can't.
Well........if you take what we were told three years ago and compare it to what we are told/know now, then he's either a liar or an idiot, which one do you prefer?

I know I am joining this thread late, and I'm sure there have been many valid points and counter points about various things including W's education.
But any man who says things like:
"The vast majority of imports come from outside the country", is very suspect of being qualified for the title of "idiot".

Sorry Lily, you don't get to limit the choices. How about mistaken? Misinformed? Misled? Or the one I hold to- Right?
