Police say they a 2nd grade teacher from the US, currently under arrest in Thailand for sexually-related charges, is being extradited to face charges in the Jon Benet Ramsey case. Big news for the true-crime crowd.
If he is guilty, it will be sad to remember that Patty Ramsey, the girl's mother, died a few months ago. She won't live to see her daughter's murderer punished, or to receive the apologies she is due from the TV pundits and mob who convicted her of the murder without a trial.

It'll be good if this is actually the pond scum that did it, and it's being reported that Patty Ramsey knew of the link to this guy and investigator's focus on him before her death, so I suppose that could have been something of a comfort to her.
I also agree that some major appologies are due, and Geraldo Rivera should lead the line.
He was a second grade teacher!? My head is spinning. You're right sbannon, I heard that Patsy did think it was this person from the begining, but the police wouldn't take their focus off the family. It's been 10 years........I hate the thought of what this man could have done to other children in 10 years.

It is amazing that after 10 years they might have finally caught the dirtbag responsible.

Well, the latest I heard about it this morning sheds doubt on his guilt.
-First of all, I'd probably plead guilty to her murder if I was sitting in a Thai jail cell, especially on sex related charges.
- He was working on a book about the murder.
-His ex-wife says that he was with her that Christmas and could not have committed the crime.
-His brother says that he doesn't think his brother has ever even been in Colorado.
-It still doesn't explain how he could have known about the $118,000 bonus her father had gotten. The three page ransom note requested that sum for her release.
-I guess it will all come out in time.

Amen.
If I had to hear him rationalize Michael Jackson's innocence anymore I was going to banish Fox News from my TV until the trial ended.
The guy is scum.

Sorry bout that,
1. But they got this pervert.
2. He had links personally to the Ramsey's.
3. I heard him say on an interview just now, that," I loved Jon Bonet, and I killed her by accident".
4. From his own mouth, he can not hide it any longer, guilt has eaten him up.
5. They should put him to death for sure.
6. But the only thing that will prevent that from happening, is the *Liberal Mindset*.

Which still doesn't answer the question of why the Ramseys refused to cooperate fully with the police. That may have something to do with why the cops couldn't catch the guy.
Nathan........I'd like to know how the Ramseys could possibly help the police find this guy........when they didn't even know he existed?

Id like to know what he did. Thailand is expelling him as an undesirable......what the hell would you have to do in Thailand to be kicked out???
- He was working on a book about the murder.
Are you sure? I thought he emailed some professor over the years, who was doing a documentry.
-It still doesn't explain how he could have known about the $118,000 bonus her father had gotten. The three page ransom note requested that sum for her release.
Don't know about the ransom money.....but I really do want to know where he got all his money for travel. They showed all the countries he visited. As for the note. Also from what I understand, will come in handy for handwriting analisys.

They obstructed the investigation by refusing to talk to the police. That's not something normal parents would do.
I'd like to see some proof of that. Everything I've ever read, they helped the police all they could......although if I was "the main suspect" and they were not actively looking for anyone else, I could see how the police would think they were obstructing...........by not just confessing.

John Mark Karr confessed on August 16, 2006 to "accidentally" killing
6-year-old JonBenet Ramsey in 1996, but holes in his argument raise
questions about whether he really is behind the murder.
The day of the murder
JonBenet Ramsey was found dead on Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996, shortly
after a ransom note was found in the Ramsey home. Karr apparently told Thai
police he picked JonBenet up at school and took her back to her home,
despite the date falling during the holiday vacation season.
The location
JonBenet's body was found in the basement of her Boulder, Colo. home. Karr's
now ex-wife told TV reporters she was with Karr in Alabama during Christmas
1996.
Details of the killing
Karr told investigators he drugged and sexually assaulted JonBenet before
killing her, but an autopsy performed a day after her death revealed no
drugs in her body. She had a vaginal abrasion, but the autopsy made no
conclusions about whether she had been raped. No semen was found on her
body.
'Accidental' homicide
Karr told authorities he never meant to kill JonBenet. Details of her murder
imply her death was intentional: "It's hard to imagine a more intentional,
deliberate murder than hitting a little girl in the head so hard that she
had almost a foot-long fracture in her skull and then deliberately
fashioning a garrotte to twist until it buries in her neck and slowly stops
her breathing," said Craig Silverman, a former Denver prosecutor.
'I love her very much'
In his confession, Karr said, "It's very important for me that everyone
knows that I love her very much, that her death was unintentional, that it
was an accident."
But it is unclear whether Karr actually knew JonBenet. The two families
lived near each other in Conyers, Ga. while she was a baby, and then the
Ramseys moved to Boulder, Colo. Karr has not said yet what his connection to
the Ramsey family was, if any. He has told authorities he wrote letters to
Patsy Ramsey, JonBenet's mother, a month before her death in June 2006.
