In another stunning blow to the security and integrity of Diebold's electronic voting machines, someone has made a copy of the key which opens ALL Diebold e-voting machines from a picture on the company's own website. The working keys were confirmed by Princeton scientists, the same people who discovered that a simple virus hack on the Diebold machines could steal an election. Absolutely incredible and another example of how Diebold's e-voting machines pose a great threat to the electoral process.

I had a paper ballot today. I still haven't seen one of these in person.

Aren't the optical scan machines that we insert our paper ballot into also Diebold?

Does this mean that if a Democrat gets elected that the Conservatives can cry about a rigged election for 8 years?

How profound, you must be another one of those Leftist geniuses. :madlaugh:[hr]This story is an outright lie.

Posted on the Leftists web site Truthout:

"Chris's key was left over from a previous job, maybe fifteen years ago. He said the key had opened either a file cabinet or the access panel on an old VAX computer. A little research revealed that the exact same key is used widely in office furniture, electronic equipment, jukeboxes, and hotel minibars. It's a standard part, and like most standard parts it's easily purchased on the Internet. We bought several keys from an office furniture key shop - they open the voting machine too. We ordered another key on eBay from a jukebox supply shop. The keys can be purchased from many online merchants."

The headline for the blogosphere: "Hotel Minibar" Keys Open Diebold Voting Machines"

Unfortunately, and as typical, such stories are digested by the gullible willing to believe that a company who has made automated bank teller machines which have a PROVEN track record for accuracy and safety is somehow too stupid to make a scam proof voting machine.

Gee let’s see, I trust them with billions in cash, but can’t trust them to count a vote. One has to be a genius to come up with such tripe.

These types of stories are only compounded by the equally absurd notion that manual voting systems are somehow safer than electronic ones can only be claimed and believed by the most gullible and naive among us.

This story is an outright fraud and I am surprised that so many willingly swallow such leftist swill which is only intended to harm a company who has the audacity to be just that, an American Corporation. You have to be a lemming to constantly digest such crap and repeat it without any credible sources.

From the Diebold web site in response to the Princeton study:

Nothing against the person who posted this story, but I would think you had enough intelligence to NOT fall for such simplistic nonsense.
